GENERIC CHARACTER.
Contorted. Ca/itf 5-parted, small. Corolla salverform, border 5-cleft,- orifice naked.
Anthers rigid, acuminate, convergent into a cone, “ cohering to the stigma
by the middle.” R. Brown. S ty le t. Stigma annulate, capitulum 2-lobed.
Follicles 2, very long and straight. Seed comose. Nutt.
SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
Stem climbing; the lower leaves nearly linear-lanceolate, the upper oval-lanceolate,
acuminate, invested beneath with a villous pubescence; raceme cymose;
stamens included; segments of the border of the corolla equilateral. B.
