Calyx bursting through the frond, tubular, somewhat
plicate, mouth a little expanded, and irrepu-
larly toothed. Calyptra ovate, becoming oblong
in length twice or thrice exceeding the calyx.’
Capsule pale greyish brown, four-valved. Elaters
bispiral, attached to the inner base of the capsule
in tufts (fig 172). ^
