sake of distinction, the green group of the Megal&minai, and is most nearly allied to M.
viridis from Malabar, especially in size and shape; it may be, however, distinguished from
it in colour by its bright green superciliary eye-streak and cheeks, and by its striped throat.
Though the specimen about which we are now writing was procured as long ago as
1830, nothing more has been heard of this species; and we are unable to give any particulars
of it excepting what information we can get from the dried skin; our figure represents the
type, and is the identical specimen that was figured by Temminck in his " Receuil des
OiseauxT."
