T h is Anta» been represented th e galleries & the Paris Museum by a few ; feathers o f the wing and
taff differing altogether in their colour and markings t o n those of any other species of this genus known. Although a manuscript
name was attached to them, no description was ever given until' lately, when I published a full account of the interesting fragments

The largest primary is dark bronci npon p j A t e r portion mf the* outer web, and for about two thirds of its length'from the tip
¡¡¡¡barred with blackish brown, and also m‘d ftlèc fc^H the same, c'licdy in the. centre of rhe web. The base of the feather and also
both sides of the shaft are light rufous buff, unspotted; the outer margin of the inner well being blown, faintly dotted with dark
brown. The buff colour of the base extends the whole length of the leather, becoming darker a t the tip. The smallest feather

buff, the remainder being dark brown barred and m ttled vith blackish brown on the outer web, and only faintly dotted with dark
brown on a small portion of the inner web from about halfway from the base towards the tip. The shall is yellowish white
for about half its length from the S ’ with a line of dark brown along the side next to the inner web, becoming generally;;

I R S two thirds of the length of the feather, are numerous rather large reddish spots with black centres, generally of an oblong
