2. Lophophorns Lhuysi. Found in the vicinity of Moupin, and also a t Lassa, in Thibet, a t great elevations. Pére David informs
me that he procured his specimens a t a height of 15,000 feet.
3. Lophophorns Sclateri. Mishmi Hills, in Upper Assam, on Thibetan border.

1. Ceriornis satyra. Himalaya Mountains, in Nepaul and Sikim, at a height of frcim 7000 to 9000 feet.
2. Ceriornis melanocepliala. The range of this species extends from the western borders of Nepaul tP the extreme north-west
Himalayas ; but it has not been ascertained if it is found throughout the range.
3. Ceriornis Temmincki. Confined to a comparatively limited area in Central China. Its western limit is Hankow; thence it
goes to the Tung-tin Lake, and thence westwards through the northern part of the Province of Szechuen to. the range o f . the
Snowy Mountains; .thence northward, to the Pe-Leing Mountains, and eastward to the range looking, down upon the plains, .and
southward. to Hankow. It has also been procured by Pére David at Moupin, near the Thibetan border, and may possibly extend
some distance into that couutry.
4. Ceriornis Blytlii. Only .found thus far on the Mishmi Hills, in Upper Assam, on the Thibetan border.
5. Ceriornis Caboti. Exact locality not ascertained; but it may be a native of the province of Kwangsi, in Southern 'Chinará---:*

Range o f the Species.
1. Pucrasia macrolopha. Found in the western part of the Himalaya range, a t about 4000 feet elevation, from the borders of
Nepaul to beyond Simla. Not met .with in Sikim, nor in the eastern part of Nepaul.
2. Pucrasia mnthospila. Obtained in Central China, where it is apparently confined to a narrow strip of country running north
and south. The eastern limit is north of Hankow, .thence to the Tung-tin Lake, whigh. is its southern limit. The borders of
Szechuen are its western boundary, thence north to the T u n g -lm J§ | imperial burial-place, beyond Pekin. It appears therefore to
be confined .to' the mountain-ranges of Central China, near the plains, and not to penetrate to any great -distance from their
eastern slopes.
3. Pucrasia Duvauceli. The habitat of this species is not known.
4. Pucrasia Darwini. Mountain-range behind Ningpo. Chinese province of Che-Kiang.

of Pekin, and westward to the Pe-Ling mountains,' near the source of the Hwang-ho river. Then must pass through the Singan
mountain-range, as it appears in Hupeh to the south, and is found at . Hankow, its south-eastern limit, 750 miles up the Yangtsi-
Kiang. .
12. Phasianus Sammerringi. Met with in the Japanese islands of Niphon and Kmsiu.
13. Calophasis Ellioti. Mountain-range behind Ningpo. Chinese province of Che-Kiang.

the provinces of Kiangsi, north of Fukein, and Hiinan, lying between Kiangsi and Kweichau.
