P" ' f”was on the 17th o f March that we fet out fromHor-Caca-
moot on our journey to Teawa, capital o f the province o f
A tbara.. Our courfe was N. N. W, through thick bruihwood,
with a few high trees ; our companions-being eleven naked
m e n , with affes loaden with fait. We had feveral interruptions
on the road. At three in the afternoon we encamped
at Falaty, the eaft village o f Ras el Feel,, a little to the north-.
ward. A f m a l l mountain, immediately north from this v illage,
the one end o f which is thought to refemble the head
o f an elepharit, gives the name .to the village and the province*.
