A small uuderßhrub, the young branehos rufescent with spreading hairs, at
length glabrous; leaves opposite, of each pair unequal, ovate-lanceolate, s l i g h t l j unequalsided,
base cuneate, apex acuminate, margin finely serrate, lamina sparsely adpressed
puberulous above, pubescent especially on the nerves beneath, 4—8 cm. long,
a-5—3-5 cm. wide, petioles rufous-pubosceut, 2 cm. l o n g ; cymes few-flowered, axillary,
with slender, elongated, puberulous peduncles 3 cm. long, bracts lanceolate; pedicels
1 cm. long, slender; calyx 6 mm. long, campanulate, split to the middle or rather
lower into 5 ovate-acute teeth ; corolla palo-purple, subsymmetric, tabular, almost
straight, very sparingly puberulous without, 3 cm. long; capsule 2-5—3 cm: long,
4 mm. wide, erect on the pedicel.

A very distinct species unlike any other northern one, and
resembling D. corchorifoKa Wall., a native of Penang and Malacca,
are oftenest 3-flowered but are not infrequently 5-flowered

A dwarf tomentose or pnberulous undershrub; stems woody and rounded below,
4-angled above, 15—30 cm. high ; leavea small, sessile or subaessile, ovato or rounded,
cranate, glabrate above, tomentose at least on the nerves beneath, 1—1-25 cm. long, under
1 cm. wide; cymes few-flowered, rather dense, racemosely set on axillary peduncles
.1—7-5 mm. long; calyz pedicellate, narrow, sub-bilabiate, aubhispid, strongly nerved,
enlarging in fruit, 4 mm. (in f r u i t 7 mm.) long, 2-5 mm. wide; teeth acute, the two
lower one-half longer than the three upper, the tube contracted above the nutlets in
f r u i t , the pedicels 2—3 mm. long; corolla 9 mm. long, tube short (only 4 mm. long) and
wide (2-5 mm.), lips large the lower 5 mm. long ; niUlets pale, f a i n t l y reticulated, smooth
oblong, 2'5 mm. long, 1'5 mm. broad.

An exceedingly distinct species, a member of the group which includes Plectranthus
mlissoidct Beath., and P. rugosua Wall., between which it stands in soma respects iutermedaite.

A herb with simple, ascending, glabrous, rather flaccid, somewhat bluntly 4-angled
stems 3 0 - 4 0 cm. high: leaves broadly orbicular, obtuse, 4 - 4 - 5 cm. long and 4 - 5 cm.
wide, base cuneate, entire, narrowed gradually into a petiole proper 1 - 3 cm. long, beyond
the middle with 3 - 7 wide serrations increasing f o m a r d , the terminal always largest,
sometimes -75 cm. long and 1-5 cm. wide, always b l u n t ; cymes disposed m a n a n w ,
solitary, terminal panicle shorter than stem or with also a few axillary racemes shorter
than the leaves, the longest 6 - 1 0 cm. long, lax-flowered; calyx glabrous, 2 mm. long,
teeth subequal, acute; corolla 7 mm. long, tube nearly straight, cylindric, gibbous at base
above ; stamms not exaerted ; nutlets minute, broadly ovoid, about 1 mm. long.

A stout herb, almost shrubby, 3 0 - 6 0 cm. high, everywhere flnely puberulous ;
leavea pale-green especially beneath and there sparsely glandular-puberulous, darker
and faintly puberulous above, lamina ovate-acute with entire cuneate base and short
entire sub-acuminate tip, margin elsewhere regularly crenate, 8—12 cm. long, 4—5 cm,
wide, petiole 4—5 cm, long ; pwers in stout, branched panicles with ascending
branches ; calyx 2-5 mm., in fruit enlarging 5 mm. long, gland-dotted, two lower teeth
subulate, 'lateral pair ovate-acute, upper orbicular-ovate; corolli pale-green, faintly
dotted, 10 mm. long, tube decurved and gibbous at base, one and-a-half times as long
as the boat-shaped lower lip, upper Up short ; filaments free from each other from
t h e point where they become free from the corolla-tube ; nutlets oblong, brown with
darker tips, hardly shining.
