A shrub ? young branches slender, glabrous ; laaves thinly coriaceous,
somewhat oblanceolate, shortly acuminate, the base cuneate ; both surfaces glabrous,
dull, the lower pale-brown when dry ; main-nerves 10 to 12 pairs, curved, interarching
within the edge, somewhat prominent on the lower, obsolete on the upper
surface when d r y ; length l - 5 _ 3 - 5 dm., breadth 4 - 6 em.; J i m soKtary, erect,
shghtly supra-asillary, 4 cm. long, tlieir pediccls somewhat eiceeding 2-5 cm,, adpressedpuberulous
and minutely braoteolate near the base; ¡e;,ak fleshy, free, ovate, subacute,
spreading, pubsrulous on both surfaces, 1 em. long; jielalt fleshy: the outer row
obliquely ovate-lanceolate acuminate, contracted and thickened at the base and
excavated on the inner surface, adpressed-pubescent externally and at the base internally,
otherwise glabrous, 4 cm. long and 2 cm. wide at the broadest part ; inner
row ovate, acute, narrowed at the base, pubescent on both sm-faces but especially on
the outer, cohering in the upper half to form a calyptra with three openings at
