DESCRIPTION*.
STEM scarce a foot high, shrubby: branches
l o n g and ascending.
LEAVES scattered,linear,long, and blunt-ended:
footstalks pressed to the branches.
FLOWERS crowded together in bunches at the
ends of the branches: footstalks very l o n g and
red, with two floral-leaves set at a distance on
them: blossom pitehcr-sbapcd, and of a deep
l l e d i - r o l o u r : segments of the border eq.ial and
spreading.
SEED-BUD turban-shaped, furrowed, and furni
hed at the base with honey-bearing nectaries.
Native o f the Cape o f Good Hope.
