T h is unique collection is tlie first th a t "was ever made by the (iryi/iy process
in the interior west of Zanzibar. It has been arranged at Kew by Dr
Thomson, and is highly commended by Dr Hooker, who regrets with myself
that better facilities are not instituted for the guidance of explorers in
