 BLOSSOM.  One  leaf, of  a  roundiili  funnel-fliape:  
 tlie  limb  fpreading;  and  its  fegnients  
 rounded.  
 CHIVES.  Ten  hair-like  threads,  the  length  of  
 tlie  bloflbm,  bent  downward.  Tips  oval.  
 F O I N T A L .  Seed-bud  five-fided,  and  dented.  
 Shaft  thread-fliaped,  the  length  of  the  
 blo0bm.  Summit  blunt-ended.  
 SEED-VESSEL.  Capfule  oval,  five-celled.  
 SEEDS  many,  fmall,  and  linear.  
 SPECIFIC  CHARACTER.  
 Rhododendron,  foliis  glabris  utrinque  nudis,  
 petiolis  longiflimis;  corollas  violacea:,  foliis  
 ampliores,  rotatae.  
 Rhododendron,  witli  fmooth  leaves,  naked  on  
 both  fides,  and  long  foot-ftalks;  the  bloffoms  
 light  purple,  larger  than  the  leaves,  
 and  wheel-ihaped.

 A L T H O U G H  this  ihrub  has  been  defcribed,  and  is well  known  to  botanifts,  it  has  not,  till within  thefe
