T h e late Mr W. A. Fo,-bes published a note on this species from Mr. Tho,-pe, who obsc-ved the bird
in Cape' Yo,-k Peninsida, where it was found with P/llo,im alberti. He says that " they frequent the
deep pain,-forests, and are usually seen high up in the trees; they utter a very deep antl loud guttural note,
,-ather prolouoed, and unlike that of any other bird with which I am thmilia,-. Their movements a,-e
partic,da,-lv active and g,-acef,d ; on approaching them they evince more curiosity than t,m,d,ty, look,„g
