T H I S nondefcript and beautiful fpecies of the genus Scilla, is allied to Scilla pra^cox of Willdenowj
but appears to differ in too many partictJars, to admit of their being united. It :s a native of Siberia,
incr f« flowly by the root, but fLe t ime s ripens feeds in this country. It commences flowering in
be b e g L i n / o f kbruary. before the common Scilla bifolia; but continues in beauty long after that
p i n t h paft r and although perfedly hardy, its flowers are liable to be injured by ftrong frofts, unlefs
S a light foil, and warm fituation, but, like all dwarf plants, appears to mofl advantage
in a pot : and indeed, fucceeds beft with the treatment ufually given to alpme plants.
