S P E C I F I C CHARACTER.
Struthiola foliis ovato-lanceolatis, mucronatis,
ciliatis, concavis, quadrifariam imbricatis;
glandulae ofto fupra faucera; corolla rubra.
Struthiola with leaves between egg and lance-
Ihaped, pointed, fringed, concave and tiled
in four rows; eight glands upon the mouth
of the blolTom, which is red.

T h e two varieties of this fpecies of Struthiola, the other with a white flower being intended for
our next number, were introduced at the fame time with the Struthiola imbricata, to which thev
much aiSne, in general habit. But, the strong diftinaion in the number and charaaer of the glands
mduced us to confider them of a diftina fpecies; in this, they are eight, in S. imbricata thLe are
but four; the leaves likewiie not fo clofely fet upon the flem, and they are much more fringed
