CHARACTEK.
EMPALEMENT. Cup one leaf, funnel-iliaped,
coloured, above and withering; border four
divilions.
BLOSSOM. Four petals, fitting clofe on the
mouth of the cup, into which they are inferted.
CHIVES.^ Eight threads, unequal, thread-fliaped,
upright, fixed into the tube of the cup.
Tips egg-lhaped.
P O I N T A L . Seed-bud beneath, egg-fliaped.
Shaft thread-fliaped, upright, the length of
the chives. Summit compofed of fmall
knobs.
SEED-VESSEL. A fleihy beriy, egg-fliaped, and
four valves.
SEEDS many, fmall, aiBxed to a pillar-ihaped
receptacle.
CHARACTEE.
Fuchfia with egg-fliaped leaves, waved, and
growing moftly by threes; foot-ftalks with
one flower growing from the infertion of
^eaf, the fegments of the cup reflexed.
