an nicli and a half broad a t the extremity, and of a ronndish oblong
form, with the edges slightly divided. The centre petals ai'e much
shorter than those a t the circumference of the flower, and rise upright,
like the centre petals of the Waratáh. They are, however, not so
inimerous, nor so regularly arranged. All of them are uneven, a little
cut at the edges, and faintly marked with dark-coloured veins. When
the flower is fully expanded, it has a very fine appearance, resembling
th a t of a large double red Hollyhock, on which account we th in k it
has been very appropriately named.
