throat and breast on the upper part, pale chesnut, the latter on the
sides yellowish white, the feathers tipped with black, and with a
crescent-shaped mark of rich orange buff, deepest in front; on the
lower part buff white and pure white; back, yellowish dusky brown,
finely pencilled transversely with zigzag markings of reddish ash-colour,
and lines of brown and chesnut, each feather being finely margined
with white. Greater and lesser wing coverts, yellowish brown, with
large spots of a paler shade, with a dark spot in the centre of each;
primaries, dusky greyish brown, with a light-coloured line along the
edge of the outer web. Tail, greyish brown; upper tail coverts,
yellowish dusky brown; under tail coverts, white. Legs and toes,
pale yellowish brown.
