18th. Sizewell, a male k i l l e d J u l y 7th. Shcrringham, four, all females,
J u n e 26th. Morston, a flock of nine seen; one shot about J u n e 22nd.
Mersca, one male and two females killed J u n e 22nd.;* Dungeiijess, one
caught by a dog near the lighthouse at the beginning of August.
Lydd, eight seen, one of them shot J u l y 20th.; five more shot the
following week. Elmley, a flock of six seen, four of them obtained,
two of these on J u n e 7th. Croxton, one, a male, about the second
week in July. Elveden, a male caught June 6th. Wangford, several
obtained on the warren about the same date. Holme, twelve shot,
males and females, between the 10th. and 15th. of J u n e . A female
found dead on the beach on the 1st. of J u l y ; three males killed on
the 1st. of August out of a p a r t y of four; another, also a male, shot
the last week in November. Methwold, one shot out of a flock in
September. Bcxhill, one killed by flying against the telegraph wires,
May 29th. Eordham, several killed about the middle of June.
Pevensey, a flock of eight seen May 28th. Eastbourne, seven killed
out of a flock of eight, in June. Saffron Walden, a male and female
shot June 7th. Saltfleet, a male and female killed. Alford, several
killed at the end of May or June. Swatfham, two killed. Leake, a
male and female killed out of a flock of t h i r t e e n , May 5th. Cottenham,
four or five obtained out of a flock of forty, the end of June or
J u l y ; three also caught, one of them a male. Okington, a male and
female the end of J u n e or July. Barrington, several. Forest Gate,
one killed. Louth, several obtained in May or J u n e . Boston, some
shot on the coast in the neighbourhood. Boyston, nine killed. Balcombc,
one on the 5th. of J u n e . North Burton, one of a pair, the
male, killed the first week in J u n e . Barnet, two males killed in July.
Bridlington, one killed in May or June. Peterborough, one or two
killed in May or June. Skidby, one caught the last week in July.
Flotmanby, seven killed out of a flock of nineteen. Whitby, one
killed in May or J u n e . Aldcrshot, the female of a pair killed May
26th. Farnsfield, two out of four, J u n e 2nd. York, one out of a
p a r t y of four, on J u n e 5th.; others on sale there. Teesmouth, a
flock of sixteen or seventeen seen; three said to have been shot the
13th. o f May, and one several days l a t e r : all males. Whitburn, two
seen about the middle of June. Sheffield, four shot out of a flock
