T h e flowers of this Plant are surprisingly large, and the Drawing
barely gives the size which a Plant eight inches high produced this
spring: on the leading branch and a lateral, were three blooms, all of
which opened equally fine, and with the exception of Camellia
Chandlerii, plate I. we have seen nothing to compete with it.
