The specieshere described belongs to a curious family of Dicra-
7ZBJW,along with D.flexuosum, D. cygneum,and D. introflexum,
all agreeing in general habit, in the broad nerve of the leaf, and
in the ciliated border of the calyptra. From the former of these
it differs in the much longer and twisted nature of the leaves ;
from the two latter, in the striated and strumose calyptra ; and
still further from the last-mentioned species, in having the tips
of the leaves of one uniform colour with the leaves themselves, and
not at all diaphanous.
