
The following is the description of the colouring, as given by Mr. Darwin
from the living specimen. “ Above fine grass green, mottled all over with copper
colour, which nearly forms two longitudinal b a n d s ; beneath entirely of a lurid
reddish lead colour. Iris brown.”

thighs covered w ith large p rom in en t granula tions. B en e a th th e lower jaw th e granulations

fold o f skin over the tympanum passes backwards to tb e arm ; an d b e n e a th th e th ro a t th e re are
two considerable transverse folds, one o f w hich is before an d tb e o th e r immediately b eh in d th e
arms. F o re fe et, with th e palms covered with small g ra n u la r tuberc les, a n d a tuberc le u n d e r
th e jo in ts o f th e fingers, which are conne cted to about o n e -th ird o f th e ir len g th . H in d e r legs
