* Dr. Eeichenow (Orn. MB. iv. p. 4, 1896). suggests the restitution of Sarothrura
of Heine (Nomencl. Mus. Hein. p. 319) in place of Corethrura, Reichenbach, as the
first mention of the latter genus occurs in Gray’s ‘ Genera of Birds in 1846. In
1852 Reichenbach figured, as the type of his genus Corethrura, C.gardinei {— C. lineaoa) ;
but as Gray in 1846 had previously given a full description of “ Corethrura, Reichenbach,”
and figured the head of C. ruhiginosa [pi. 161. fig. % yzlrimnobasnus fuscus (Linn.)]
as the typical species, Dr. Reichenow’s suggestion will have to be adopted.
