The Bullfinch has hern known, in several instances to breed in confinement. A pair that were
kept by a naturalist at Brighton in a small aiinry made their way through a ventilator into the shop
and built a nest in an old-fashioned cut-glass chandelier. This was not detected till an egg dropped
through the bottom and fell on the counter, the poor birds having been unable to collect sufficient
materia] lo complete the lining of their cradle.
