The ma l t has the lace and ear-coverts deep indigo,-b]ue, becoming paler on the latter; all the upper
su rfah e -^ ^ ^& ^ ^ n j. upper wing-covertl-hèa^^nl^lazuline• blue : unvd e ^ ^ i n ^ ^ ^ ^ &|deep indigo-blue;
primaries and secondaries black; the f i r s t f o u r primaries slightly margined with green; two
centre tail-feathers dark green ; the remaining tail-feathers black on the internal webs, green on the external
gg|jgÜ| and largely tipped with bright y e n o w ,^ ^ ^ ihqi:^|e^.in extent a s'th e feathers recede froip. t l ^
centre ; chest scarlet ; under surface yellow, passing into g re en ^ i?the sides of the che^land*
flanks.
> The female differs in above S ^ ^ J i ÿ t h » of a pale lazuline blue,
and in the chest being green instead "of scarlet.
