Sub peridermio adest stroma effusum, aureum quoque, fere pruinosum,

laciniatim rupto arcte cincta, centro rufescenti-fusca ; ostiola minuta, parum
vel vix exserta, punctiformia, distincte 3-4-gona, atra asperula, intus albicanti-
furfuracea; perithecia in quoque stromate 10-20, sat stipata, monosticha, collo
brevi instructa, oblonga, compressa; asci clavati, p. sp. 3o-3 5« 6-8; sporidia
allantoidea, 10-12 « 2 -2 ‘A, lutescentia.
Sub quoque stromate linea vel crusta stromatica adest, quae, ligni superficie
relieta, peridermium prope marginem stromatis attingit. Stromatis superficies
vero nigra, duriuscula, tantum adest in fissuris peridermii. An ad
speciem hanc omnia specimina, quae a cl. Ellis sub n. 490 edita sunt pertineant,
mihi ignotum; certe bue spectant ea, quae mihi examinare contigit.
Mihi videtur contra non ab hac specie separanda esse specimina a cl. Thuem.
in Myc. Un. sub n. 275 edita et ad Newfield, in Quercu atba, lecta.
