rufo-fusca. Operculum longe rostratum, rostro curvato. Peristomium
duplex : ext. dentibus erectis, lineari-.subulatis, di-
stantibus, rubris ; int. ciliis 16, flavis, e membrana perbrevi

Among the splendid productions of New Zealand Mr. Menzies
bad the good fortune to discover this fine plant in so perfect a
state as to enable us to remove it from Anictangium, where it
has long held a place, to its proper germs, among which indeed
there is none with which it can be confounded. I possess no
specimen with a calyptra, but the teeth are truly those of an
Hedwigian Neckera.
