Having now concluded nay remarks on thefe iilands and
people, I fliall_take my final leave of them-, after giving
fome account of the aftronomical and nautical obfervations
that were made during our flay.
And, firft, I muit take notice, tit at the difference of longitude,
between Annamooka' and Tongataboo, is fomewhat
lefs than was marked in the chart and narrative of my lait
voyage. This error might eafily arife, as the, longitude
of each was then found without any connection with the
other. But, now, the difiance between them is determined
to a degree of precifion, that excludes all poifibility of
miftake ; which the following table will illuftrate :
The latitude of the obfervatory at
Tongataboo, by the mean of fe- .
