380. Mucuna utilis (Wall. MSS.) the prineipal difference of this
species, it indeed a species and M. prurila consists in the hairs of its
legumes being oppressed and almost silky not erect rigid and stinging.
In all other respects they sufficiently agree the dowers in both

281. Bupleurumplantaginifolium (R.W.) perennial, erect: stems
terate, naked towards the base: leaves congested towards the apex
of the stem, remote on the branches, somewhat imbricating at the
base, petioled, spathulate, about 11 nerved, the middle one much
larger : general umbel with 8-10 rays; partial with 10-14 flowers:
leaflets of the involucre and involucel, 5-6 obovate, cuniate or oblong,
decurrent on the stem, forming acute angles: fruit, prominent -
ly ribbed interstices with single large vittse.
Obs. In the accompanying figure,' the transverse section of the
seed is not well represented. The plant attains the height of from
7 to 11 feet. °
