Perithecia membranacea, saltem primitus epidermide, tecta saepius sparsa
minutaque, nigra, ostiolata. Asci octospori, paraphysati. Sporidia ovoidea vel
fusoidea, transverse bi-pluriseptata, colorata.
Affinitates : A Metasphaeria, cui valde cognatum et subinde aegre sepa-
randum, sporidiis coloratis differt. Cum Ophiobolo speciebus nonnullis scole-
cosporis congruit. Ad Melanomma speciebus sublignicolis vertit. A Rebentischia,
Ceriospora, Heptameria et Passeriniella sporidiis non appendiculatis
loculisque omnibus concoloribus differt. A Pleospora sporidiis numquam mu-
riformibus distinctum. Sporormia loculis sporidiorum secedentibus longe distal,
Pocosphaeria peritheciis setosis, Chitonospora sporidiis tunicatis, Lepto-
sphaeriopsis sporidiis in asco apice connexis differunt.
