sind auf mattweissem Grunde ganz charakteristisch und typisch
gefleckt und gezeichnet, die Fleckenzeichnung ist aber ausserordentlich
reich und gross, auch treten auf jedem Ei verwaschene
fahl- oder lehmbraune Flecken auf.

Sowohl 1892 wie 93 erlegte ich je ein Exemplar dieser Art
in den Pinien bei Batna. Sylvia curruca, von Tristram und Dixon
angegeben, ist nicht von mir bemerkeworden, desgl. nicht Sylvia
nisoria welch’ letztere mehr dem Osten anzugehören scheint.

Die Mönchsgrasmücke habe ich im März in den Anlagen
des Jardin public Biscras öfters gesehen und deutlich beide
Geschlechter erkannt, doch ist mir diese Art in Batna nicht
