Population o f the Plains o f Tafilelt, I f we except the habitations and castles near the river, the population o f the plains is v e ry inconsiderable i a few tents o f the A rab s whose original stock inhabit Sahara, are occasionally discovered, w hich serve to break the uniformity o f the unvaried horizon. A person who imagines a vast plain, bounded by an even horizon, similar to the sea out o f sight o f land, will have an accurate idea o f this country, The goats o f Tafilelt are uncommonly large: there is a breed o f them preserved b y the Jitnperor o f MaroccQ on the island o f Mngodor, CHAPTER IV.
